Easter

easter was so fun this year with the 2 kids. i love watching them experience new things. they had so much fun at their easter egg hunts! I love holidays and love going all out for them! on satruday we took the kids to lee's to see the easter bunny and to get candy. kaylee was scared to death (remember this for later in the blog). she wanted him out of site. cole, on the other hand, couldn't have cared less. he just wanted to play with his ears.

after the kids got a good haul at lee's, we went up to preston for easter with dave's family. on the way up, dave's grandma called with some great news! after 3 years of trying to get into physical therapy school, we had been accepted into southwest baptist university in bolivar, mo!!! we couldn't believe it. it took a minute to soak in and then tears of happiness and gratefulness came. we had a little prayer of gratitude and then it was time for the days festivities.

we had a great time dying easter eggs, eating, and watching the kids during the egg hunt. it was a great time! saturday night as i was putting kaylee to bed and told her that the easter bunny was going to come to our house while she was asleep. bad idea! she started crying and telling me that she was scared of the easter bunny. you would think i would be smart enough to put 2 and 2 together that you shouldn't tell a 2 yr old the easter bunny is coming when they are terrified of the easter bunny....anyway, we said a prayer that she wouldn't be scared anymore and she calmed down and went to sleep.

on sunday we had our own little easter egg hunt in our apartment. by this time both kids new exactly what to do and kaylee was excited that the easter bunny did come because "i not scared easter bunny, i said prayer". it was a fun morning with the kids. we all got new sunday outfits that we wore to church. i also was brave and made orange glazed eggs benedict with orange julius. i'll have to admit that it was an awesome breakfast. i had never even had eggs benedict so i was really proud of myself. it is now going to be an easter tradition to have eggs benedict easter morning.

easter weekend was such a great weekend filled with joy and gratitude and an easter we will always remember!

That is kinda creepy if you think about it. An oversized bunny sneaking around your dark house...
