Blue Grass & BBQ @ SDC

We went to Silver Dollar City to check out the Blue Grass & BBQ Festival.  I LOVE Blue Grass, Dave LOVES BBQ, and the kids LOVE SDC...so a great time was had by all!

I think I love Bluegrass so much because it reminds me of living in Virginia.  I wish I could have gone to more of the shows but they weren't very entertaining for the kids...but I loved the shows we were able to go to!

Check out this apple pie!  I am not a huge fan of pie...especially apple, but I sure wanted a slice of THIS pie!

In one area they had Blue Grass going with vending all around with LOTS of BBQ and desserts.  Maybe next year we will have to save up so we can enjoy some of this food, but for now, it was fun to look at :-)

Dave testing some of the BBQ sauce....it was FREE...haha...so he used his finger for testing.  They had tables set up with different sauces to try.  YUMM!

We stopped for a quick snack while we waited for a show to start.  It was hot and humid as we waited in line....but as soon as the doors opened after the show....there was nothing but a sheet of water falling from the sky.  Luckily, we were right by the Opera House with another show about to start...we made it in time to see one last show...which was AWESOME!  Thankfully the rain calmed down after the show so we could make it back to the car without being completely soaked (which happens to us more times than not at SDC!)
