19 hrs is what it took me to drive back home to Utah. It was either crazy, stupid, or crazy stupid...., none the less, I did it! It wasn't the ideal situation, nor the orginal plan. But, if I wanted to go home, this was my only option. We tried all sorts of ways to get me home because our orginal plan fell through. We tried several other ways like, Dave driving us to Denver, him flying back, and me driving the rest of way; Dave driving us to Utah and then driving back by himself; Dave driving us and then flying back; or just forking out the money to fly. When it came down to it, I just had to buck up and drive. I think the longest I had driven by myself before this was 4 hrs...and I HATE driving. It was definetly a huge deal for me to drive. In the end, it was SO worth it. The kids were SO good. I think they cried twice for just a little bit because they were tired. I could not have asked them to be any better.
My orginal plan was to stop in Sidney or Cheyenne but I made it to Sidney by 3 that afternoon. It was crazy to stop there! So, we continued on. We arrived in Rock Springs around 7. I was done by this point, but once it again, it was crazy to stop. I only had 4 hours to go. Those 4 hrs seemed like 19 hrs!

5-hour energy is what kept me awake. I'd say they worked quite well! I took 3 of them throughout the trip. I don't drink much caffine so I started getting pretty light headed and jittery. I didn't sleep well the night I got home but I crashed the next 2 days. I felt so sick...haha...I don't ever want to know what it feels like to have a hangover!
Once I finally made it into Cache Valley, I called my dad and asked him to talk to me on the phone so I would stay awake on my way home....they had no idea I was coming :-) I walked in as they were crawling into bed. They had to look at me for a minute for it all to register. It was so fun to suprise them like that! After the surprise wore off a little bit, I got in some trouble for driving all that way, and so did Dave, but in the end, it was ALL worth it!
Life is so much better at HOME!
