3rd time apparently is {NOT} the charm for us!

This is a feel sorry for ourselves blog post.

We heard from 2 schools yesterday denying us to their PT schools. One in AZ and the other was at the U. We both just cried and cried when Dave opened the letter. We thought for sure we would get into the U this year. Dave felt better than he has in the previous years about his interviews at the U and he worked really hard to improve his application. He retook a class, did mock interviews, received help with his essays from physical therapists he has worked with, and also received help from a physical therapist who has done interviews down at the U. BUT, we will not be going to the U.

We were really excited to have some direction in our lives and to move forward. We were planning on buying a house somewhere around SL and we were excited to know that we only had 3 more years of school and then Dave could start his career. Our dreams were shattered.

We are still waiting for 4 schools but we no longer have much hope. Maybe we should but after 3 years of trying we just don't have much heart left.

Right now we don't have a clue what is in our future or where to go from here. We feel like we are in a worse situation than when we graduated 3+ years ago. We are tired of the wild land firefighter life and are dreading even the thought of having to do it another year.

Don't worry, we haven't completely given up. First thing Monday, Dave is going to call around to schools still accepting applications to see if they have any openings. At this point we don't even care where it is. We just need in.

Wish us luck!

Dave--I know you tried your hardest to get us into the U and to move us forward. I love you and I'll support you in whatever you decide to do.

I think Dave should just change his mind, become a chiropractor and move out here to go to school with us. It's only 3.5 yrs, and they take anyone with a GPA higher than a 2.9. The possibilities of making a lot a money is endless. He would love it, so think about it. No big tests to get in...Nothing. They take anyone (which could be a bad thing because some people really don't care about their education. Those ones end up being the bad chiropractors). But Grant absolutely loves it and is learning so much. Me and Dax get adjusted for free too.

I'm so sorry guys! Sam got his first rejection letter on Friday from the University of Maryland, so we are feeling your pain. Hang in there. I know a family that had to go Ireland for PT school, so maybe you can get a European vacation out of it. We miss you!

Good luck with the other schools. It can be so frustrating sometimes. We know that you will find something great for your future no matter what happens.

Gosh! take two weeks off from blogging and come to find out your good friends lives are at a screeching stand still! When Dave was over here the other day he seemed really optimistic and I didn't understand what it truly meant to not get in to these schools. I feel terrible, I'm sorry. Your work must not be finished here in Logan...the Johnsons still need you. Faith my dear! Love you guys.
