The Amazing Park Race/8 Miles Worth of RUNNING!

Dave, Dustin, Kenny, and I participated in the Sports Academy's Amazing Park Race. It was so much fun! We started at the Sports Academy and from there were able to choose the route we took just as long as we hit all the destinations. We decided to start with the closest. We first went to Dream dinners and had to guess how many calories were in the plate of food they had out. We guessed 375 and there were 399. We got a early head start while the other team had to wait. Then it was off to the Green Canyon Corn Maze. Yes, we had to run there! Once there we had to do the corn maze. We did it in 20 minutes! From there we thought the buses would be up and running but boy we were wrong! They didn't start until 10 on Sat and it was only 9....so, after a 1/2 mile + detour to a bus stop that wasn't running and waisting time waiting for the bus, we had to run all the way up to the Hyper field from the corn maze. WOW! That was rough! When we finally arrived we were very happy to know that we were the first ones there! We then had to play horseshoes. We didn't do very well at all! We got penalized 14 minutes. While waiting we got pretty stiff but were def ready to get on with the race. After our penalty was up we ran down to Adams Park where we had to chip a golf ball into a garbage can. Kenny and Dus did it really fast. Dave and I struggled! But, once again we beat the other teams so we were off to the bus station. We had to wait 10 minutes for the bus while anxiously hoping that we would get on the bus before the other teams made it. We weren't so lucky. The family that was a step behind us the whole race made the bus just in time. They didn't even look at the routes they just followed us. CHEATERS! They had to ask the bus driver how close to the sports academy it would take them. Since the only stop left was the finish line it was going to be a dead sprint back to Sports Academy. We were lined up at the doors and as soon as the doors opened it was on! 8 people were sprinting from the bus to the Sports Academy. It was rough! After we had to run 8 miles and then end with a sprint! We were dead. My brothers came back to push me to beat the other team and we did it! We beat them! Unfortunately another team did beat us...they chose a different route than the rest of us. BUT!! They got disqualified because they only had a 2 man team and in the rules state that the teams had to have 3 or 4 people and must have a male and a female. (Thanks Dus for bringing this to light) SO WE WON!! We won 800 dollars worth of prizes! Needless to say, we were all very sore the rest of the day and the few days that followed. It was well worth it though! It was SO fun! Go Team Jenna! (pics not in order...sorry)
