The Deer Hunt

I decided to be a good little wife and join Dave in Morgan for the day. I knew it would mean a lot to him to have his family be a part of something that he loves so much. I figure, it isn't going to go away so I might as well make the best of it. :-) We did have a great time minus the driving to and from Morgan. Kaylee absolutely LOVED it! She was having the time of her life. She loved riding the "vroom" - 4 wheelers. She went on several rides to go see the cows, which she also loved. She just ran from one thing to the next jumping and skipping and jabbering. I am so glad I took her! She also cooked a hot dog over the fire, played with toy trucks, played with relatives (which is a biggie!), and ate otter pops! What a day!

Cole stayed in the trailer with Grandma Holt most of the time. Thanks Grandma!

Dave had to leave early (before dinner) to hike up to the top. Crazy! I just thought it was insane but I don't think I'll ever fully understand this whole hunting thing.

Getting ready to hike to the top...

Good luck with that pack Dave!

Grandma Holt and Cole

The cooks! Dinner was so GOOD! Too bad Dave was on a huge hike instead... we had dutch oven lasagna, garlic bread, salad, green beans, corn, and yummy yummy cobbler with ice cream. Thanks Grandpa Holt and Niel and Kathy!

Dave and Ned. Ned was nice enough to show me the way back to the highway! Thanks Ned! Who knows where I would have ended up...
Eric and Calvin

Sean and Brian

It may look like this was en easy hike with everyone on 4 wheelers, which I'm sure everyone would prefer BUT the 4 wheelers were just taking them to the mountain. Sounds like fun doesn't it? Hike forever, sleep on top on a freezing mountain, then have to hike back down while looking for deer.

Now for the driving part. I hate driving. Especially on the freeway and in places I'm not familiar with and then you add driving in the dark and that just has anxiety written all over it for me. The drive down wasn't terrible. I just took a few wrong exits and turns but eventually made it. The ride home was the worst. I took the wrong exit because I guess I thought it would be fun to take 2 screaming children through a scenic tour of Ogden instead of driving on I-15. Once we finally made it through "beautiful Ogden" we were back to I-15 and I thought the screaming would stop. NOPE! Cole eventually gave up in Willard but Kaylee made it until Logan with a nice 3 minute break in Brigham City. I was considering driving back up today to hang out again but after the drive last night...I think I will stay home.

You are too good to Dave! I hate the driving alone thing also, because I am the worst when it comes to directions. Just ask Sam. He bought me a GPS for my birthday. Nice. Anyways, cute pics of the family. Love you!

You are a good wife to drive with two kids just to hang out for the day. It is fun to be up there. I miss living so close to everyone. You look beautiful in the first picture. And your family looks great in camo :)
