I can't believe it has already been 4 years. Time flies! I thought I would just write about our courtship, engagement, and a little about the day we got married. We met June 6, 2006. I only remember this because it was exactly a week before Dave's birthday. Anyway, I was home for the summer from SVU living at my parents house and Dave was on summer break from USU living at his grandparents house and working in Soda Springs, ID. I didn't want to go to my family ward because it was a different ward due to my parents moving while I was away at school so I chose a time I wanted to go to church, picked a church on campus, and it just happened to be the ward Dave was in. I had actually met his friends before I met Dave. Then one Sunday I needed to pay my tithing so I asked Dave's friends where the bishops office was. If anyone has ever been in the Aztec church it is confusing. So I asked them to take me there....of course with some other things in mind :-). When I was done I went to find my brother Kenny (who was at church with me that day) and he was talking to Dave. As we talked we learned that Dave lived just down the street from my parents so he followed us home. Later that day I had a call from Dave asking me if I wanted to go to ward prayer. When he came to pick me up my entire family was outside on the porch. A little overwhelming I'm sure. We went to ward prayer for the one and only time the entire summer. After ward prayer we went to Oak Meadows where his friends lived and Dave let me hit baseballs at him in the dark. It was so much fun! He must have really like me because that is just crazy! Plus I think I kinda impressed him that I could hit a ball. Def. a good start to get my attention.
For the next 6 weeks, Dave drove back and forth from Soda to Logan to see me. I was working 2 jobs and was literally working from 7:30-11/12 at night. So, we only were able to hang out for a few hours and then he had to drive back up to Soda for work at 6 am the next morning. Crazy! And at first I really did think he was crazy. :-) But 6 weeks later we were engaged!
Dave and his family invited me to go to Yellowstone with them for a few days. The night before we were suppose to leave, Dave told me that my dad asked him to have me home that same night. He wanted us to be an example to my brother who had been going camping with his gfs family. Obviously against my parents wishes. So, frustrated with my brother we still went and planned on being home that same night. We were the first of Dave's family to arrive in Yellowstone so Dave started to show me around. He took me to his favorite spot in Yellowstone, which was a lake overlook. It was kinda funny because he didn't know there had been a fire there the year before so it was all black. He started acting all nervous and kept going back and forth between me and the car waiting for us to be alone. Once we were finally alone he did it. He got down on one knee and proposed. As we were leaving a couple showed up and said, "I hope we weren't interupting a romantic moment". We just laughed. We then headed back down to camp. On the way I called my parents and let them know I was engaged! My dad was happy for me so he said we could stay for the night. YAY! And don't worry, the Holts were very good at keeping us apart that night. :-)

During the next 6 weeks we enjoyed planning the wedding. We never got stressed over anything. I don't think anyone else really did either. The only frustrating time was for my poor mom who finally had all the addresses entered for the announcements and then lost them all. Other than that it was just a very fun 6 weeks.
Sept. 9, 2004 was our reception. We held it at my parents house and it was a wonderful night! We decided to have the reception the night before and we were so glad that we did!
Sept. 10, 2004 we were married! We were married in the Bountiful temple. It was nice to just enjoy the day and not have to worry about getting back and setting up for the reception. Dave's grandpa Holt was able to perform the ceremony which made it extra special. I remember sitting in the celestial room (they had us wait there for some reason before we were married but I was so glad) with Dave with a very calm and peaceful feeling knowing that this was right. I was so excited! It was just all so wonderful and I was so happy! It truely was one of the happiest days of my life! And that began our lives together. Now we have 2 beautiful children and a happy little family. Thanks Dave for all you do for our family and for loving me and the kids as much as you do! I love you so much Dave! Happy Anniversary!
