The best part of all of this is that it is OVER. Cole was SO good through the entire thing. He has been so good since his first ear infection and every one after that. Sometimes I felt like he could cry a little more because I knew he was in pain.
I am very grateful that everything went so well and I am also very grateful to Dave and my dad for giving Cole a blessing last night. I know it helped!

I fed Cole last night at 11:30. The hospital said that I could feed him up to 2 if I needed to but it would be best if he didn't eat anything after midnight. So, we decided not to wake him at 1:30 and hoped he would sleep until we had to go. He did pretty good. He woke up at 5 and played with Dave for a 1/2 hour and then he was really hungry so Dave took him for a drive while I got ready to go. Luckily he fell asleep. Once we got to the hospital he hardly complained. He was SO good even though I knew he was starving. The surgery was so fast. I was surprised how fast it was. It took about 10 minutes. Then, the hard part. I heard a baby crying and I had to ask Dave if it was Cole because it was a weird cry. It was Cole. The nurses and anesthesiologist warned me that kids have a very hard time waking up. One nurse described it as they seem possessed and it even brings dads to tears. Your baby doesn't seem like your baby. As soon as they handed him to me I couldn't help but cry and I'll probably never be able to shake the look on his face and the sound of his cry. I didn't know what to do for him because he didn't even want to eat. It was rough, Dave even had a hard time seeing him like that. He cried for a good hour. They finally told us we could go home because sometimes getting them back to familiar territory helps them. He cried all the way home and finally fell asleep after 10 minutes of being home. I hope to never hear that cry again!
He has done really well since the surgery. He probably even feels a little bit better because he doesn't have pressure in his ears so he isn't in pain anymore. I hope and pray this is the end of his ear problems. I also hope and pray that he will only need the tubes once so we don't have to do that again.

So this whole blog thing is bitter sweet...I love it because I can know everything that's happening because you are really good at posting, but on the bitter side I haven't actually talked to you for like 3 weeks. We have to be more than just blogger friends jenna, comprende? ;-) I'm releived that everything went well! I can't imagine kade going through that. You are a strong woman!
Oh poor little boy, but at least hopefully the ear infection part is over. My sisters little boy had to have 2 sets of tubes and she said that it is the best thing they ever did, even though the surgery part is sad, the ear aches go away. I am sorry I had no Idea he was getting the surgery. I am glad that everything went well though!
What a cute little hospital gown. How sad for you guys to have to go through that. I just can't imagine how I would have handled it if it was Dax. I am dreading taking him in to get his 2nd series of shots next week. Yea..he is behind. But I am glad that it's over for you too.
Oh I am so sorry to hear that...my heart goes out to you! It is hard hearing your babies cry anyways, but I am sure that was so unbearable. I am glad that he is doing so well though, he is such a tough kid! :)
